My meaningful day of my life

What does birthday mean to you? Just a happy day? Or the day you get some presents? Or just same as another ordinary day? Anyway, birthday is one of the most important days for me. Among them, this birthday was really special. Now I will tell you about my meaningful day of my life.

My meaningful day of my life is my 17th birthday. Actually it is my 5th birthday. My birthday is February 29th. My birthday comes every four year. Isn’t it amazing??? My birthday is easy to remember, but it is difficult to play with my friends for birthday party. Anyway because of my unique birthday I have a few memories of my birthday. Moreover, in February, friends were busy preparing for the start of the class, and it was difficult to meet friends. I don't usually have a birthday, so I don't remember my friends celebrating my birthday.

Only my last birthday and this birthday is remembered. Other birthdays were too young for me to remember. I think my 5th birthday in 2020 is my best birthday. However, this birthday was not perfect either. Because of the covid-19, all the appointments to play with my friends were canceled. It was little disappointing, but it was still fun.

Also I’m so glad that my friends celebrate my birthday in a way that I never imagined. One friend drew a cake instead of real cake and sang a song because we couldn’t see face-to-face, another sent me a recorded birthday letter, and the other matched my picture like a puzzle. The unexpected present made me even happier.

It might not have been a special memory for me if I had been congratulated every year. However, it was a very grateful and happy day for me who didn’t have a birthday every year. I can't wait for my next birthday in four years!!!

  1. This is really interesting for me since I've never met someone whose birthday is February 29th. I'm really happy that you enjoyed your 17th birthday! I can't imagine my birthday coming once in every four years...

A moment back then

Though not so often, there are those days in which something suddenly comes to your mind. For me, these are usually momentary flashbacks or small fragments of my past memories and experiences. And one of those memories is rather short but not to say short-lived.  And a lthough I find it hard referring to it as a 'life-changing' experience, it is indeed one of those memories that is deeply imprinted in my mind and means a lot to me. Back then, the 9-year-old me was in Seoul, since my family moved around quite a lot of places. The late-spring sun was glittering like sprinkles of gold, with the family tent set up on the soft grass that overlooked the Han River along with some other tents scattered here and there with people laughing and enjoying their spring excursions. While dozing off comfortably in the tent, I woke up to the tune of relaxing, yet upbeat song coming from somewhere outside. Instinctively, I went out of the tent and danced to the song, with my arms swinging and m...

Meaningful moment in my life

Meaningful Moment in My Life    After learning the lesson 'Meaningful Life', I thought about what is my meaningful moment in life. It was the day when I traveled to Busan with my friend. It was my first trip(going somewhere far)without my parents. My mommy and daddy were worried about me and kept telling me that I should be careful about the car and people. However, I wasn't worried at all. I woke up in 7 and I prepare for my trip. We took a subway to get to the station and we took a train to Busan! As soon as arriving at the destination, we walked to the subway station (thankful, it was nearby the train station) We took a subway and head to the gallery. But after taking off the subway, we need to find the gallery. I launched the Google Map and input the location where I need to go. It took more than 20minutes to find it. I asked a lady and the man "Excuse me, do you know where is Seomyeon Gallery?" Fortunately, they were so kind and inform the way. The contract...

My most meaningful moment

Have you ever lived in a foreign country for a long period? Well, I have. If I had to pick the most meaningful moment in my entire life, I'll pick two and a half years that I spent in Japan. It's always exciting to travel to different countries. But, If you were told to live there, where your language isn't spoken, how would you feel? It was a total disaster for me as a young child. However, I could avoid the worst by going to an international school, where English is spoken. I couldn't speak a single word out till one month. I still remember the day when I told my idea in front of my friends in class. Since then, I wasn't afraid of English anymore. My English became better and better every day. The point is, I learned how to enjoy presenting in front of everyone. These days, the ability to give a public speech is very important. It's an inevitable thing to do to succeed in your career, and even in school, we give a presentation in front of everyone. For me,...
